The concept of “going concern” in accounting emphasizes that a business must persist into the future to retain its value. This principle signifies that present value already incorporates expectations of future value; thus, a business facing uncertainty about its future will inevitably diminish in present value. It highlights the interconnectedness of present and future values, suggesting that they cannot be regarded in isolation. All stocks traded on the stock market are priced based on their anticipated future value. In essence, we trade on a future that has yet to materialize. Consequently, determining how far into the future to evaluate is a critical factor in making investment decisions. Since individuals have varying skills and perspectives on forecasting the future, selecting an investment strategy must align with one’s attitude toward time. - Joseph’s “just my thoughts”

In Japanese cuisine, sushi omakase is an approach where patrons rely on the chef’s curated menu and follow the sequence of courses without making personal selections. Since diners don’t choose their dishes, the chef must ensure that the flavors and quality of the ingredients are top-notch. A failure to meet diners’ expectations can spoil the experience of a wonderful meal. This process hinges on the chef’s confidence and the patrons’ trust. While the chef’s skills are crucial, they must also consider the diners’ eating habits, including their pace and frequency of intake, to create a pleasurable dining experience. Ultimately, successful commerce rests on mutual satisfaction, but it can only thrive if the recipients are truly content. - Joseph’s “just my thoughts”

When desire intersects with imagination, a product emerges. A product driven solely by desire tends to be unappealing and struggles to capture market interest. Conversely, one built solely on imagination may fall short in practicality and fail to deliver full satisfaction. Desire fuels imagination, while imagination brings us closer to fulfillment. Integrating design into this process constitutes product planning, which brings the product to fruition. - Joseph’s “just my thoughts”

If being happy doesn’t depend on intelligence or wealth, what truly brings happiness to people? I believe that “knowing how to find satisfaction” and “knowing how to enjoy life” are essential for happiness. While having more or less can play a role, it isn’t the sole determinant. What matters most is finding a sense of satisfaction that resonates with your circumstances. Genuine education should prioritize teaching individuals how to find joy and contentment before focusing on the pursuit of achievement. - Joseph’s “just my thoughts”

In business, a “transaction” is essential. This transaction focuses on addressing human needs. To fulfill these needs, one must choose methods that align with one’s moral values while also recognizing the limitations in addressing them. Therefore, businesses should satisfy these needs within the bounds of morality. - Joseph’s “just my thoughts”

Happiness and satisfaction are two distinct concepts. It is a fact that poverty deprives happiness. What is also a fact is that earning more than a certain amount of money does not increase happiness. Social science research has proven this. But satisfaction is a different matter entirely. Satisfaction is directly linked to achieving social goals. It is a myth that more money will make you happier. Happiness is about having the right money and friends. But satisfaction comes from achieving your goals. It is a simple fact that humans live a completely different life depending on whether their living standards are happiness or satisfaction. - Joseph’s “just my thoughts”
