Religion generates “power” through its architectural design. This spatial design instills power independent of external influences. In churches, pews confine movement, making the congregation face the priest in the pulpit. “Power” emerges when many individuals focus their attention on a single entity. Limiting church services due to the COVID-19 crisis is more than just a financial setback for the Church; it indicates a significant shift in religious authority. Islam addressed spatial concerns not by modifying architecture but by ensuring prayers are directed appropriately at scheduled times. Regulations also contribute to the establishment of power.
